1- ERF Project Up-scaling Rural Sanitation Through PATS Approach in Critical Early Recovery Frame Work ERF Project

WDCO Implementing Up-scaling Rural Sanitation through Pakistan Approach to Total Sanitation PATS in Critical Early Recovery Framework Project with ERF, The main purpose of this project is same as SPSP-Rural project that to prevent excess morbidity, mortality and to help reduce incidence of water, sanitation and hygiene related disease by providing WASH interventions for 35,046 people (15,771 Children, 94,45 Women and 9,830 Men), as well as provided School WASH facilities for school children in selected schools in focused UCs of District Suhbat Pur/Jaffarabad. The aims of the project is to improve access to drinking water and sanitation needs of flood affected villages in order to alleviate the suffering and addressing the priority needs of the 35,046 affected people (5000 Families), through provision of safe drinking water by Installation/rehabilitation of Hand Pumps; orientation regarding water treatment and safe storage options at household level, social mobilization and hygiene promotion activities by Women Development & Community Organization (WDCO) in 80 villages of Sanhri and Hamid Pur Union Councils of district Suhbat Pur/Jaffarabad.

The WASH project is implementing under the model of “Pakistan Approach to Total Sanitation PATS” to up-scale rural sanitation through strong social mobilization by social organizers and community resource persons. In addition, WASH facilities will be provided at community and school level as part of trigger CLTS and SLTS Approaches. The following activities are planned to address early recovery needs of the affected population focusing on the provision of safe drinking water, basic sanitation and hygiene, ensuring access for women, girls, boys and other vulnerable populations.
